AKC CAR is a proud participant in the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) Universal Pet Microchip Lookup Tool. This free Web site, at petmicrochiplookup.org, allows shelter and veterinary professionals to check a microchip number in real time with AKC CAR's national recovery service to determine whether that pet is enrolled with us. The pet owner's privacy is still protected, as the finder must still contact the recovery service.
This tool will streamline the recovery process and get pets back home more quickly. With the backing of major veterinary and shelter organizations, the Pet Microchip Lookup will benefit the pet owning community for years to come.
