Microchips Matter!

REUNITED: In 25 minutes!

Michele, a Pembroke Welsh Corgi breeder, is adamant about microchipping her puppies before they go to their forever homes. And thankfully she does because it helped reunite one of her beloved puppies!

“Justin [the Pembroke Welsh Corgi] was staying at his owner’s son’s house when he dug out from the backyard fence about 5 minutes after being put outside,” said Michele the Breeder. “He was missing for about 25 minutes,” before someone found the wandering canine and took him to a nearby veterinary clinic.

Thankfully, Michele is a responsible breeder and microchips all of her puppies! So, when Justin’s microchip was scanned and detected, the microchip was not yet enrolled. That’s when we notified Michele looking for help in reuniting the lost pup with his owners!

“I got a phone call from AKC Reunite with his microchip number and the phone number of the vet clinic where Justin was safely being cared for,” said Michele. “I didn’t have my AKC Reunite paperwork with me [at the time], so I checked Facebook to see if I could find any information on my Corgi page. I saw his owner’s post and immediately called her with Justin’s information!”
