Disclaimer of Liability

The AKC Companion Animal Recovery product is designed and intended only to facilitate recovery of lost animals by assisting finders of lost animals with the following: (1) ascertaining information about the lost animal's owner, and (2) initiating contact with the lost animal's owner. AKC Companion Animal Recovery is an information service only. AKC Companion Animal Recovery expressly disclaims any further responsibilities or obligations, including but not limited to, any loss, damage, claim or liability concerning the accuracy of information set forth on the Confirmation Notice, the return of the animal, the condition of the animal, or use of information about the animal or animal owner communicated by AKC Companion Animal Recovery to any party.

The animal owner shall be the sole party responsible for ensuring that information set forth on the Confirmation Notice is current and accurate. It is the animal owner's responsibility to notify AKC Companion Animal Recovery of any change in the information set forth on the Confirmation Notice within thirty days of the change.

The animal owner acknowledges and agrees that enrollment with AKC Companion Animal Recovery is not a guarantee that the enrolled animal will be returned to the animal owner. AKC Companion Animal Recovery does not warrant or guarantee the condition of any lost animal. The animal owner is the sole party responsible for arranging for the return of the lost animal.

AKC Companion Animal Recovery expressly disclaims any liability for inaccurate or negligent use of the information set forth on the Confirmation Notice by any third party, including but not limited to, any party to whom AKC Companion Animal Recovery delivers the information.
